For decades the medical establishment has lectured us on the evils of salt in our diet. Today, in the current Administration is trying to control our diets like never before and reducing salt intake is on their list of things they’d like to do.

Studies show salt doesn’t harm us…

But for years, studies have shown just the opposite! In 2003, a report by the Cochrane Collaboration, a non-profit healthcare institute studied the salt-high blood pressure connection and found that actually, there is no connection between the two!

A follow up study in 2004 by Cochrane found that the long-term effect of drastically reducing salt in our diets had only a very minor impact. And when we say “minor”, we mean it. The study showed that for someone with 120/80 blood pressure, cutting out salt reduced the number to something like 119/79. That’s it!

In fact, in 2006, an American Journal of Medicine study said that the more sodium people ate, the less likely they were to die from heart disease! (Our emphasis.) Then, in 2007, a study in the European Journal of Epidemiology followed the salt intake of 1,500 senior citizens for five years.

Their conclusion was surprising to some, but not to us. The 2007 study only added to the results of the 2006 studies: They found that there was no association between urinary sodium levels and the risk of coronary vascular disease or death. None!

Natural salt is actually very good for us

We could go on and site more studies, but you get the picture. Now that you know that salt is not bad for you, do you think that it could possibly, actually, be good for you?

They answer might surprise you. Salt is good for you…especially sea salt. But really, this shouldn’t really surprise anyone, right? Seawater is, chemically, very similar to our own blood. There have even been many tests and successful experiments using seawater as a substitute in blood transfusions!

This was done a long time ago by a French biologist named René Quinton. He proved that seawater could easily be made to become identical to mammalian blood plasma. He used it to heal thousands of patients in France and Egypt in the early 1900s. Seawater, as you know, contains a lot of salt.
